COVID-19 Updates & Resources

We want to thank you for being a part of the Charleston Healthy Business Challenge community, especially as we weather uncertain times and face new challenges.

Your safety is of utmost importance to us, and with the current restrictions as it relates to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have transitioned to a virtual format to deliver our regular seminars. We are hopeful that we will be able to safely transition back to smaller in-person gatherings in the Spring of 2021 as the COVID-19 vaccine becomes widely available, but will continue to offer virtual opportunities for engagement indefinitely in an effort to meet the unique needs of all CHBC participants.

In the meantime, CHBC's dedication to providing resources and information to support the Charleston Area business community is as strong as ever. The CHBC leadership team has created and curated a number of virtual seminars and resources to help you address the many questions and challenges that your workforce may be facing during this time.

We appreciate your patience as we continue to adapt to the changing landscape and look forward to supporting your business as we move forward together. If you aren’t already receiving our newsletter, you can sign up here to receive details on upcoming digital seminars, opportunities for engagement, resources, CHBC updates and more.

Best in health,

The City of Charleston, Medical University of South Carolina, BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina and Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., and  Healthy People Healthy Carolinas are partnering to create healthier workplaces.

The Charleston Healthy Business Challenge is designed to help businesses and organizations improve the overall health and well-being of their employees with the goal of reducing the growing cost of preventable illness and disease and create a culture of wellness in the workplace.

The Charleston Healthy Business Challenge is free and open to all businesses in the Charleston metropolitan area. Networking seminars will focus on the dimensions of worksite wellbeing and will provide participants with valuable tools and resources to help reach their worksite wellness goals. An awards ceremony will recognize and celebrate the successes of participating businesses.

" I encourage you to demonstrate your commitment to create and maintain a healthy work environment by joining the Charleston Healthy Business Challenge. By participating in this challenge and implementing strategies to improve the health of your workforce, you are not only improving the health of your organization, you are also acting as a leader in our community to improve the health of the entire Lowcountry. Over the past three years, 110  organizations participated in the seminars and sharing their healthy workplace successes. We are looking forward to building on those successes in the fourth year of the Healthy Business Challenge and making our region a healthier place to work, live and raise a family." — Mayor Tecklenburg

"The key to a healthy lifestyle is a strong support group. When you're at the office 40 or more hours a week, your colleagues become your best advocates, that's why MUSC's Healthy Business Challenge is so important. Through MUSC's guidance for challenge participants, any workplace can become a healthier, more productive environment. I strongly encourage the civic leaderes of the Lowcountry to band together and promote positive health change in every business" — Mayor Summey
